Holmfirth Cycling Club are organising a weekend cycling festival over Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th July 2015.
The base is the Bridge public house at Holmbridge, Holmfirth.
Over the weekend there will be a food and drink festival with live bands, free on site camping, Go Ride coaching and races and 3 sportives, plus on the Sunday morning, escorted ride outs led by club members.
The event will be a celebration of cycling marking the anniversary of the Tour de France passing through last year.
It's the first of our new social evenings tomorrow. We will be at the Navigation, Dobcross (at the bottom of the Horse and Jockey climb) from 19:30. As the club grows and not all of us can get to the more popular group training sessions the social evenings are a way for the members to get to know each other better.
I have entered the Tour of Tameside which is three running races over three days 19,20,21 June. 6 mile fell run on Hobson Moor & back to Copley on the Friday night at 7.pm. A 13 mile run on the Longdendale trail in Hadfield on Saturday morning and 6 mile Hyde, Mottram loop run on Sunday. See the Active web site for full details or search Tour of Tameside 2015. Just entered Rubicon middle distance 30th August anyone fancy it. . Spoke to Tiger lyons yesterday and he HAVIN IT .i did this race 2 years ago and it was in its 1st year year of running. downstream river swim Very fast bike course and the run is a mixture of trail and road. PB course.
Brecon Beacons Ultra opens this weekend if you are planning to enter please let us know, we need to be on the ball with this one as it sells out quickly.

Paul Cane text me today to tell me that Barcelona Ironman in October 2015 is now full and closed which may come as a surprise as this race was still taking entrants two weeks before the start in 2014. The race is obviously more popular for 2015.
Paul, Cane, lewis Cane and Myself are booked onto the race.I think Rothy is still going to try and get on via Navada, good luck with that.
We wish Lewis all the best for his first Ironman challenge and I look forward to racing with another first timer as I was two years ago in Lanzarote!! just saying.
