Stockport 10 race report.

Forums:

Sunday 8th December at 10.10 am sharp the Stockport 10 mile road race took place at Woodbank Park. The weather conditions were great ,no wind,no rain and around 8 degrees C. Eight Triguru members took up the challenge and there were some superb times posted:

Martin Caine finished in an amazing 59:45 secs thats under 6 minute miling for ten miles folks! he finished in 20th position overal, well done again Martin.

Next up was Keith Usher with a great time of 1:04:36 and 8th in his age category, I told him I was going to stick to him like glue and make sure I was his worst nightmare but I gave up after 1K as he was too fast for me! Watch out for keith this year as his running has come on big style, shame he cant swim!

Dave Bunyan came in next in 1:15:49 and 8 seconds slower than the last time I raced it 7 years ago but I felt great all the way round niggle free, oh what a pleasure, oh what a delight indeed.

Rothy next in 1:19:25 another great time which is down to increased millage over the past few weeks, great job Rothy. If you keep this up you will be able to defer the surgey to take off that 2 stone of fat round your middle!

Next Gummers, considering he wanted to stay in bed he did very well in 1:25;37 and would have been 5 minutes slower if not for Julie chasing him down in:

Julie Gummers: 1:28:32 yes only3 minutes behind her husband, yes in deed , wish I could have seen Gummers face when he kept looking back and Julie was still there eating away at his mind!! Julie this was a great run and should give you the confidence to build on it for 2014.

Next in Janet Bunyan, 1:31:33 despite Steve Lyons telling her not to run it after a lenghty lay off following treatment on her knee she did it anyway and really enjoyed it and she beat her time from last time out well done my hero Xxxxxx

Last in but definately not least and arguably the performance of the day, lorraine wow she came in on 1:39:04 ,miles quicker than she thought and she looked great on the run in on the track. You must be feeling on top pf the world, full credit to you Lorraine.

The race was well organised and the hills were great so well done to all the men and women who took part and thanks to our supporters.!

The times were great and you all looked as if you enjoyed it which as you know is what its all about , its not about winning as I always say its the taking part that counts!!!

Regards Dave Bunyan
