Mart, there are quite a few organisers that put on shorter events not far from here. Many are pool swims too which can be great for beginners. Have a look at the websites below and if you have any questions about any of the events you fancy there's a good chance one or more of us will have done it!

Epic Events , UK Triathlon and Xtramile Events are the big players in shorter distance triathlons locally. Tri Hard do some excellent races in the Lake District and Freebird Events also have a good reputation. Chester Tri Club and Wrecsam Tri Club also organise events.
