Blood Pressure checked & Normal !

Forums:

You will be very pleased to know that I have had my blood pressure checked today and it was normal so onwards and upwards with the training.

Some advice for you to consider: I had no idea I had high  blood pressure until one day two years ago while sitting in the doctors surgery waiting for an unrelated appointment I tested my pressure on the do it yourself blood pressure machine. The results? sky high , over and beyond normal ranges. Had a 24 hour monitor which confirmed the pressure was at very dangerous levels. Shocked & stunned and relieved that It was diagnosed I started taking 0.25 mg of tablets each day which  stabilsed me with nil after effects.

The point of this boring story is to ask you to please get your blood pressure checked if you have not done so recently as we dont want to loose anyone on the triathlon circuit!

You only have one life so live it but please make sure you are fit enough to do the exstreme sports  that we do so get checked out, you know its right!

Regards Doctor Bunyan & only because I care!

fab news, all this training

fab news, all this training and healthy eating has made an impression then, well done. x

Thanks Jacks.

The main point I wanted to make was I was not ill  which is why its called the "silent Killer" as people can have a heart attack without even knowing they had high BP !

Dr Bunyany, you raise a great

Dr Bunyany, you raise a great topic - which is Men and their approach to their personal health. A good friend of mine, who was nice and fit, a good bloke and did plenty for charity etc died suddenly 6 weeks ago of prostrate cancer.

How cool would it be, if being members of Team Tri Guru gave us all the comfort to get ourselves checked out in all areas - no matter how embarassing, to ensure that we stay as fit as we are striving to be?

We are in a prime age group (except Cole - but your turn will come) to undergo a full check up - fancy organising it Jackie?
